Responsible for data understanding and solution design and build under the guidance of team experts
This role is one that combines many data disciplines into one. Data Managers are highly valuable as they can perform data projects from end-to-end involving others only for advice and QA
Required Skills
Proven work experience within database marketing industry (ideally B2C)
Programming proficiency in:
- SQL/Oracle versions 8 and above or
- SAS (experience using SAS for data manipulation within ETL processes rather than analytic capability)
MS Office (good Excel knowledge on data manipulation, not VB / macros)
Proven work experience managing and processing complex business data to deliver business solutions; not systems design or systems support
Can create visualisation of database design (MS Visio or similar)
Can communicate complex technical issues to multi-disciplined audience
Unix at user level
Use of MS Project

Key Responsibilities:
Understand client data – through auditing, QA etc
Understand client business requirements and service team requirements of the data (have a very good knowledge of what service teams do to deliver value and how they do it)
Understand how to deliver value from data
Identify opportunities to adapt the solution; to obtain new data; to use existing data more effectively in ways that can deliver incremental value (new revenue / value for clients and/or lower costs for company)
Be able to manage work and projects effectively
Be able to QA others work, and test solutions
Be able to code and manipulate data
Be able to resolve data issues that occur on inbound data
Deliver solution development / evolution projects
